Integrated Solution For Translation

About Us

Babel is fast approaching the 50th anniversary of its founding. In those fifty years, we have engaged in a wide range of business endeavors related to translation, from education and the publication of our periodical, The World of Translation, to publishing books in translation, brokering publication rights, and offering translation and interpretation services. For the next fifty years, our 100-year plan is to broaden the meaning of “translation” to offer dynamic linguistic solutions by developing and integrating various technologies. In this way, we hope to support clients in all aspects of multicultural communication.

To do this, we cannot stop at translation, but must also utilize interpretation. We cannot stop with the medium of writing, but must engage visual media as well. We cannot stop at human translation, but must embrace AI and machine translation tools. Moreover, there is more need than ever for multilingual translation and interpretation, as well as company-wide communication seminars and other forms of linguistic support. It is our intention to offer such integrated solution for translation in the age of globalization.

Indispensable to achieving this goal will be our network of over 300 graduates from Babel Professional School of Translation (est. 2000, USA), who are now professional translators based in 22 countries around the world.

As part of our 100-year plan, it is our sincere desire to stay close to our clients and offer the most effective globalization support based on a forward-looking understanding of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Babel Transmedia Center (BTC) is a Translation Service Provider comprised of professionals who have graduated our former U.S.-based professional school, Babel University Professional School of Translation, and who have attained specialized qualifications from the Japan Translation Association (JTA). Our comprehensive translation process begins with project creation and systematically proceeds into the phases of initial translation, revising, review, and completion—all of which are supervised by a specially appointed project manager. Through this thorough method of project management, we offer customers the highest quality of translation.

From international meetings, symposiums, and seminars to product release announcements, press conferences, sales negotiations / talks / partnership discussions, and internal meetings, our experienced interpreters are always ready to support clients, keeping the goal of global communication in mind and adjusting to the specific needs of clients.

Simultaneous Interpretation—Remote Dispatch OK
Simultaneous interpretation is a method of interpretation by which an interpreter translates what the speaker is saying simultaneously as they are speaking.
Simultaneous interpretation requires a high level of interpretive ability, experience, and concentration. For this reason, 2-3 interpreters are assigned to one job, interpreting in turns at 15-minute intervals. Normally, for half-day business meetings, seminars, etc., a two-interpreter system is used. For international meetings, lectures, etc. which last for longer periods of time, three or more interpreters are assigned.
Furthermore, simultaneous interpretation requires specialized equipment and an interpretation booth. Regarding arrangements for such equipment, please contact us with the details of your interpreting needs.
Simultaneous interpretation offers incredibly fast interpretation thanks to the combined efforts of multiple exceptional interpreters.
Our experienced interpreters offer seamless interpretation based on a deep understanding of the situation and its requirements, as well as attention to any and all requests from the client.

Multi-language Simultaneous Interpretation—Remote Dispatch OK
Simultaneous interpretation service covering 3 or more languages at international meetings, symposiums, etc.

Consecutive Interpretation—Remote Dispatch OK
The interpreters is given time after the speaker has spoken, and, in about the same amount of time as the original speaker, interprets what was said. For example, for a 1-hour presentation, interpretation will take an additional hour, taking a total of 2 hours. Excellent for clients with a flexible schedule.

Whispered Interpretation—Remote Dispatch OK
The interpreter is positioned near to the client, and interprets what is being said in a low voice, roughly simultaneously. For example, such interpretation is sometimes used by non-Japanese speakers attending a seminar or company meeting aimed at a Japanese audience. This simplified interpretation system can be very effective in specific situations.

Attendant Interpretation—Remote Dispatch OK
An interpreter travels with the client to interpret when needed at official courtesy visits, company inspections, factory inspections, etc.
Either consecutive or whispered interpretation may be used.
